No. Interviews are only required for transfer students.
We do require test scores from homeschool and international applicants.
We have removed the standardized test score requirement for all other first-year and transfer students. However, if your test scores reflect your academic ability well and you would like a test score considered, submit SAT, ACT, or CLT (Classical Learning Test) test scores directly from the testing company or include them in your high school transcript.
Wheaton's Code Numbers

Wheaton "superscores" the SAT, ACT, and CLT using the highest critical reading and math scores from any sitting of the SAT test, and calculating the highest composite ACT score using subscores from any sitting of the ACT test.
English Proficiency Requirements: apply to all international students and to U. S. residents whose native language is not English.
No. Subject Test and writing scores may be used for placement, waiving required courses, or granting college credit for students once enrolled. Specific information concerning scores needed to waive courses or receive credit can be requested from the Registrar's Office at registrar@wheaton.edu.
No. Wheaton College looks for academically strong students, but does not have minimum requirements for GPA or class rank. GPA, class rank, and many other factors are considered when making admission decisions.

Yes. The rigor of an applicant’s academic program, school grading system, and whether GPAs and class ranks are weighted are taken into consideration. We evaluate academic records in the context of what is available at the applicant’s high school.
Wheaton College welcomes homeschool applicants. Learn more about the admissions process for homeschool applicants.
Wheaton offers deferred enrollment for up to one year. A student wishing to defer should fill out a request form and submit a $300 non-refundable deposit, which will be credited to tuition upon enrollment. Deferment will not be granted to students who enroll in another college, although approved deferred students may take one college course per semester during the deferral period, for a maximum of 8 semester hours. Financial aid does not defer alongside enrollment. Students will be reconsidered for merit scholarship and need-based financial aid under the criteria and offerings for the anticipated entry term.
Information about deferring enrollment can be found in the Deferred Enrollment FAQ
Advanced standing and college credit is given for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. Credit is not given for CLEP tests or SAT Subject Test scores.
Visit the Registrar's website for specific information on scores needed to waive a course or receive credit.
Yes. Wheaton accepts dual credit/dual enrollment college courses. Talk to your admissions counselor for more information.
Most credits earned at another accredited college will transfer to Wheaton, if the courses are applicable to our liberal arts program. There are restrictions on courses taken online. First year students can transfer as many as 40 credits taken prior to high school graduation, including credit from any national exams such as the Advanced Placement exam. Vocational or technical courses, or courses in which a D grade—or a C- for Writing Courses—or below was earned are not transferable. Courses taken at unaccredited colleges may receive some credit with the approval of the Registrar. The College reserves the right to decide the acceptability and applicability of degrees and credits earned at other institutions.
