Olivia Wiebe ’26 was named a student laureate and received the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award for her leadership and involvement on and off campus.
The Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award is awarded every fall to top seniors from each of the four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities in Illinois. The Lincoln Academy of Illinois honors individuals due to their leadership and service in pursuit of the betterment of humanity, as well as their demonstration of excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.
At the ceremony in Chicago in October, Wiebe and her fellow student laureates will receive a certificate signed by the President of The Lincoln Academy, Governor J.B. Pritzker, and the Chancellor of The Lincoln Academy, Todd Shapiro. In addition to the certificate, students will receive a Lincoln medallion and a $1,000 stipend from the academy.
Wiebe, a history and Spanish major, is a volunteer leader for YoungLife’s Wheaton Northside WyldLife club, a varsity swimmer on the women’s swimming team, and a member of Wheaton’s History Honors Program. Driven by her passion for hospitality and baking, Wiebe plans to pursue a career in the culinary industry after graduating in the spring.
