Ministry & Evangelism General Fund
Support student initiated programming including Ministry Team service on campus and in the local community, Ministry Trips, and Student Evangelism initiatives.
Ministry Trips
Support Wheaton students as they partner with national and international parachurch organizations to engage in immersive, cross-cultural, short-term ministry experiences that develop students into global Christians.
Our Fundraising Philosophy
Henri Nouwen describes fundraising as proclaiming what we believe in such a way that we offer other people an opportunity to participate with us in our vision and mission. Fundraising is a way of announcing our vision and inviting other people into our mission.
Fundraising has the opportunity to allow others to step alongside students and declare that they want to foster that student’s growth. Students going on trips are giving supporters the opportunity to put their resources at the disposal of the kingdom. To raise funds is to offer people the chance to invest what they have in the work of God.
Ministry Trips are funded entirely by raised support. Funds are raised communally rather than individually. Our programming is not possible without generous donations to support our short-term, immersive, missional experiences.
All contributions are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt by mail. The IRS will not consider contributions tax deductible, however, if the check references a student in any manner. Please enclose a note to indicate if you are supporting a specific student, as they will want to send you a response when we return.
The Importance of Prayer
Prayer is the radical starting point of fundraising. It is important to emphasize the significance of raising not only monetary funds, but also raising prayer support. Money can only go so far, because God is the one who accomplishes the work in the heart of others.
Your contributions will go towards supporting the ministry experiences of Ministry and Evangelism and will not go directly towards one particular student’s experience. Donations made that go beyond the budgeted year roll over to the ministry experiences taking place next year.
