Summer Leadership School (SLS) Cabin Leading Positions

Cabin Leaders at HoneyRock engage in deep, transformational, life-on-life discipleship with campers – facilitating bible studies, participating in activities, engaging in intentional conversations, and modeling Christ-likeness while also living in corporate and individual rhythms of rest and reflection that make 24/7 ministry sustainable.

Residential Camp Cabin Leaders serve campers across two different programs – Res Elementary Cabin Leaders walk alongside 4th-6th grade campers as they experience the joys and challenges of extended time away from home, and immersion in creation and scripture, often for the first time. Res Middle Cabin Leaders walk alongside 7th and 8th-grade campers as they press deeply into questions of faith, identity, and the joys and challenges of life in community.

Advance Camp Cabin Leaders serve campers who are transitioning into high school (9th grade) in a rite-of-passage experience; intentionally using the camp environment to foster rich conversations around faith, purpose, identity, and life in high school.

Catalyst is our High School program for students in 11th-12th grade. The primary responsibility of Catalyst cabin leaders is the discipleship of our campers. The increased length of Catalyst allows for depth of relationships, space for big questions to be asked, and an emphasis on their personal, spiritual, and leadership development. Catalyst cabin leaders will eat, serve, live, pray, learn, grow, and be challenged alongside their campers. The close-knit community developed during our longest camper program has the potential to be a transformative experience for both campers and staff.

We pray that every camper in Catalyst has a catalytic encounter with the Lord that serves as their launching off point in their faith and future calling. If you’re passionate about helping foster these spaces for development and transformation for our campers, then Catalyst cabin leading may be the role for you.

School of Adventure Leadership Training (SALT) - Cabin Leading Positions

2:22 is our program primarily (but not exclusively) for rising high school sophomores. Cabin Leaders in 2:22 live and serve directly alongside campers; fostering a love for wilderness, service, and pressing into core aspects of what it means to live the Christian life through four key components drawn from 2 Timothy 2:22 - righteousness, faith, love and peace – alongside community, or “all those who call on the Lord”. If you love deep discipleship with high school students, and are hungry for world-class wilderness and ministry training  – this may be the program for you.

Voyageur Trip Leaders function as some of HoneyRock’s wilderness tripping experts – leading small groups of 10th-12th grade campers on either a 19-day trip in the Boundary Waters or a 12-day backpacking and climbing trip to Isle Royale. When not in the wilderness, these leaders support HoneyRock’s overall wilderness tripping program by training other staff leaders, helping steward the Trip Locker and Trip Kitchen, and working to keep the logistics of wilderness tripping at HoneyRock running smoothly. If you’re passionate about developing campers, staff, and yourself through deep immersion in Creation, then Voyageur may be the role for you.
