Solid Rock is an opportunity for campers to grow in their faith through personal practices that can travel home with them after camp. Campers can choose to start their day with God in contemplative/liturgical/written prayer, memorizing scripture, and Sunday's "Epic Feat of Strength" adventure run! It's designed to be a toolkit, giving them practical and dependable ways to deepen their faith amidst the demands of high school.
Every camper spends a few moments of their morning reading the Scriptures, in prayer, and in reflection. Reading through the gospel of John with their peers, campers begin regular habits of "alone” time that can undergird their faith in the transition into High School.
Through hands-on experiences and cabin discussions, cabin leaders help campers engage with stories and teachings from the Bible in ways that connect to their everyday lives and prepare them for High School.
We eat family style! You’ll come into the Dining Hall as a cabin and sit around a table with your cabin. We are nut-free, and are happy to offer options for a wide range of dietary needs, including GF, DF, vegetarian, and vegan, both in camp and on trip.
HoneyRock’s fourteen activity areas provide campers with many areas to explore, grow, and lead in.
Advance Campers continue working through our activity progression towards their Basic, Intermediate, and Master in any activity they choose. This progression involves honing technical skills, serving within that area, and learning to instruct younger campers.
While activity areas are fun, they also create the conditions to teach perseverance (it can take a camper 3-5 years to earn their masters in an area), build confidence, and learn how to fail and try again.
Activities are a great tool for developing character in campers, learning fun skills, and exploring their interests that they can work on for the rest of their life!
Time away in God's creation creates some of the most memorable moments of Advance Camp.
As campers explore the wilderness of Nicolet National Forest and step away from what's familiar, they engage deeply with questions of identity, purpose, and belonging with their cabin. Known simply as "trip," these experiences serve as milestones in a camper's journey. Campers grow in confidence as they develop new skills, step into challenges, and discover the beauty and meaning found in the great outdoors.
No previous wilderness experience is needed! All cabin leaders are certified in First Aid, CPR, Basic Water Rescue, and are trained in wilderness skills and safety.
Three Week Session: 5-day, 4-night wilderness trip
Two Week Session: 3-day, 2-night wilderness trip
OPA (Optional Play Activity) is time set aside each day to build community with peers through quality time spent together. Some days cabin leaders may take the group out on the group paddle board; other times, campers visit the Beehive (camp store) together, play games outside, or sit on the lawn and enjoy conversation together… the opportunities are endless!
My daughter wanted to stay for another session! She loved her cabin and new friends she made, and her counselors made a huge impact.
