I have been on staff at HoneyRock since 2014 and currently serve as the Facilities Manager. My primary responsibilities include maintaining our facility and managing construction projects. On a broader level, I also play a role in teaching and training students and staff utilizing my ministry background.
Before coming on staff at HoneyRock, I spent over twenty years in the construction industry with experiences that ranged from custom home building to large scale commercial projects in Chicago. I first became a carpenter while attending seminary in preparation to become a pastor. For most of my adult life construction and pastoring have been interwoven. After finishing seminary, I planted and pastored a church for six years in Downers Grove, IL. During this time, I married my wife, Heidi, in 2001. We have four teenage children.
Working at HoneyRock has proved to be an ideal place for the converging of my two passions and backgrounds: construction and ministry. I truly love what I do because of the unique place that HoneyRock is: a place where I get to blend teaching and mentoring students, managing projects, and developing future Christian leaders. I continue to enjoy working with my hands, but working with young adults and seeing them grow and develop is what truly excites me the most.
