Biography

CSA Instructor since 2002

Sarah teaches Suzuki violin, viola, group classes, and directs Vivace.

Professional experiences include founding and directing Con Fuoco string ensemble, coordinating CSA's Chamber program, coaching chamber ensembles, teaching and administration of Suzuki Parent Education, adult beginner class, public school orchestras, and Musikgarten in the Chicago area. Other Suzuki involvement has included being a guest clinician at Suzuki workshop and presenting at the biennial Suzuki Association of the Americas conference. Her first childhood Suzuki instructors were Lamar Blum and Michael McLean, followed by David Reimer, Jean Hove, and Lee Joiner. Continuing Suzuki training occurred with Alice Joy Lewis, Rebecca Sandrok, William Preucil, Sr., Ed Sprunger, Marilyn O'Boyle, Nancy Jackson, Rick Mooney, Tanya Carey, Pat D'Ercole, and Carol Dallinger.

Ms. Lindquist instructs all levels and ages with a focus on excellent technique and expressive musicality. Her students achieved acceptance to respected music conservatories, selection for American String Teachers' Association conference masterclass, SAA conference masterclass, SAA youth orchestra, and SAA chamber ensemble. Students have been picked to perform in recitals at Suzuki Institutes. They have successfully auditioned and then performed as soloist with collegiate orchestras at Boston College and Wheaton College, the CSA Concerto Concert, as well as local high school and youth orchestra concerto competitions. Her students have earned the opportunity to join Illinois Music Educators All-State Honors Orchestra, IMEA Orchestra, and first and second prize in Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Music Club contest.

Sarah enjoys freelance performing and spending time with her husband and two young children. She is a Suzuki parent to her sons.
