The Writing Center provides a space for undergraduate and graduate students across the disciplines to develop effective writing skills and processes. We seek to equip student writers to serve Christ and His Kingdom through clear communication of their unique ideas.
In one-on-one, thirty-minute sessions, our trained writing consultants collaborate with students on their writing at any stage in the writing process, offering specific feedback and suggesting relevant techniques that equip writers to improve their writing.
We are a dynamic group of writers trained to engage with students' unique writing processes. As people continually transformed by God’s Word, we believe in the power of words as tools of influence.
Our trained consultants work alongside English as Second Language (ESL) students, helping them to develop their academic literacy in an English-language context, communicate more confidently and clearly, and express their own unique voices.
The new Writing Center Blog features weekly posts by student writers. This space for digital conversation aims to empower students to communicate their thoughts through clear, charitable writing, target specific issues student writers face, and foster a community of writers on campus.
Follow the Writing Center Instagram page to meet our consultants, learn about new blog posts, and stay up to date on Writing Center offerings.
We seek to embody Christian hospitality as a Writing Center, welcoming all students from every background. We recognize that writing is a vulnerable act; thus, we aim to extend grace and gratitude to student writers who invite us to participate in their writing process.
"In the past, I was very afraid of sharing my writing with other people. After I started going to the Writing Center, I feel the complete opposite. The staff there offers a very welcoming, supportive and judgment free environment. Whenever I go in with an essay, regardless of its state, I know that I will leave with helpful, constructive and uplifting advice. As a result, I’ve become a confident writer and I am no longer afraid to share my writing with others."
"From brainstorming outlines to finalizing drafts, I come to the Writing Center whenever I need another person to work with me on essays."
"I send students to the Writing Center to become better writers. All students who visit the Center improve dramatically."
