Classrooms after hours
Did you know that you’re allowed to hang out in unused classrooms after hours this year? As we’re seeking to maintain the Wheaton Bubble and are encouraging students to stay on campus, we want to be sure you’re aware of the rooms that are available for you to hang out in—especially when it starts to get colder!
You may spend time in an unused classroom with your friends to watch a movie, play games, study, read, etc. You can use the classroom computer to stream a show, connect with your family via Zoom, or just do online research for a paper.
Remember, of course, that you’ll still need to be wearing your masks and maintaining social distancing. If there is a seat marked “This seat is unavailable” that rule still applies even after hours. Also, make sure to clean the room and leave it set up exactly as it was. Each room has a sign to tell you how many people are allowed in at a time, and each room also has a sign to show you the layout, in case you need to double-check that.
Here’s a list again of some of the available spaces which are available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, when they are not in use for class!
Spaces include:
- Armerding Center for Music and the Arts
- Beamer (when meals are not being served)
- Billy Graham Hall (closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday only)
- Blanchard Hall
- Meyer Science Center
- Memorial Student Center
Students living on campus can use their ID cards to access campus buildings. Off-campus commuter students who are authorized to be on campus are able to join on-campus students in these buildings for academic or co-curricular purposes.
Also, the following rooms have been reserved as ongoing quiet study spaces for the purpose of virtual study rooms during class time:
- BGH 248
- BGH 557
- BLAN 124
- BLAN 323
- MEY 181
- MSC 122
