New Microsoft Sign-In Experience Available for Preview
Effective Date: August 2, 2017
As part of Microsoft’s convergence of the Azure AD and Microsoft account identity systems, they have redesigned the sign-in experience for both systems. The preview of this redesign is now available.
Key Features and Benefits
-
Redesign of Azure AD & Microsoft account sign-in experiences
-
Azure AD & Microsoft account sign-in pages will both change to have a consistent look and feel
Impact on College Community
- When you log into Schoology, Outlook, SmartSheet, ThunderCloud Training (Lynda.com), ThunderCloud Storage (Box), or Azure AD, you will see a pop-up that says “We have a new sign-in experience! Try it now”
- The new experience is optional, and you can return to the current sign-on screen at any time
- The new design prompts you to enter your username on the first screen followed by a credential (typically a password) on a second screen
Microsoft believes that this sets up for an exciting future of innovation in the sign-in space. To give you time to prepare for the change, Microsoft will leave the new experience as an opt-in public preview for the next few weeks. Microsoft plans to switch over to the new sign-in experience by default during the last week of September.
