Create Stunning Instructional Videos with our New Lightboard
Have you ever wanted to record video lectures, but been unsatisfied by their poor quality or the awkwardness of lecturing to an empty classroom? Now, you can create stunning video recordings using our new lightboard. A lightboard is a glass chalkboard pumped with LED lights.
A feature of the lightboard is the ability to incorporate PowerPoints slides, images, and maps into the presentation. Additionally, you can interact with these images by writing on them: circling, pointing to, or underlining important information.
As we move towards being able to offer online graduate courses, we are excited to implement use of the lightboard, because faculty have advised that drawing on a board is an intuitive and comfortable way to teach their subject. For your students, the online experience becomes more personal when they are able to see their professor, and connect with your visual cues.
To see the lightboard in action, view this video introduction from Steven Park, the director of Academic and Scholarly Technology at Wheaton College.
If you are interested in using the lightboard, please email ait.service.desk@wheaton.edu or call 630.752.4357 (HELP).
