myWheaton Portal Upgrade
Effective Date: June 27, 2016; TBA
On Monday, June 27, we will update the myWheaton portal to improve security, update the user interface, and enable single sign-on.
The current myWheaton portal is used inconsistently at Wheaton and has not been updated in some time. In order to improve the portal's security and reliability, Academic and Institutional Technology worked with the Enterprise Portal Coordination Committee to update the portal and establish methods for keeping the information within the portal up-to-date.
Key Benefits and Features
- Single sign-on enabled | Signing in to the new Wheaton Portal will also sign you in to a growing list of other Wheaton College web applications.
- Improved security | The Wheaton Portal will have greater security to help keep your personal information safe.
- Better governance | The Enterprise Portal Coordination Committee is working to establish responsibility for keeping information within the portal up-to-date. This will help ensure that the Wheaton Portal remains a useful tool for the College community.
- Updated user interface | The updated interface makes finding what you're looking for easier than before.
Impact on College Community
On June 27, there will be a soft launch of the new Wheaton Portal at portal.wheaton.edu. Content administrators will be able to sign in and test the portal's functionality.
The full launch date for the Wheaton Portal will be announced later. On the full launch day, the URL my.wheaton.edu will redirect to a page with information about the new portal. If you have my.wheaton.edu bookmarked, update your bookmark to portal.wheaton.edu on that date.
Some links within the Wheaton Portal will only be available from on-campus. Connect using VPN in order to access all resources within the portal.
