Mandie Porick
Director, Academic Advising
Mandie is the Director of Academic Advising. She holds a Masters of Education degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from Moody Bible Institute, as well as an Illinois elementary teaching certificate. She has also been honored with a Lifetime Bible Certification from the Association of Christian Schools International. Mandie has served the Wheaton College community for more than 15 years. Prior to becoming the director of academic advising, she was an academic advisor for the Army ROTC program for 10 Chicagoland higher education institutions. She has also been a teacher, an office manager, an operations assistant, and a volunteer coordinator at her church. In her spare time, Mandie enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Pam Hittie
Undergraduate Academic Advisor
Pam holds a Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Development from Wheaton College and has a bachelor's degree in English from Loyola University Chicago. Prior to being an academic advisor, she was the Program Coordinator for the Doctor of Ministry degree at Wheaton College, as well as an assistant to the Dean of the A. Duane Litfin Divinity School. Before serving at Wheaton, Pam managed a private business for more than 17 years. She has also worked for the Chicago Transit Authority, the Chicago Fire Professional Soccer Team, the Museum of Science and Industry, Loyola University Chicago, and Trinity Christian College. Pam loves serving the Church and has a passion for encouraging and coaching emerging adults.
JoAnna Smith
Undergraduate Academic Advisor
JoAnna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an ESL Endorsement from Wheaton College. She is currently earning her Master's in Higher Education and Student Development. Prior to being an academic advisor, she worked in Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor and transfer specialist. JoAnna loves to travel, and you'll often find her on the courts playing volleyball or pickleball. She is an active member at her church and leads their young adult ministry.
Ginger Smith
Graduate Academic Advisor
Ginger holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Change from Colorado Technical University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Moody Bible Institute. Before coming to the Academic Advising department, Ginger was the Program Administrator for Wheaton’s doctoral programs in clinical psychology. Her professional experiences include work in the legal, IT, medical research, and not-for-profit sectors. When she’s not at work, she can be found chasing her three boys, rocking babies in her church nursery, or reading a good mystery novel (by Dorothy Sayers, of course).
Rachel Doriot
Academic Advising Office Coordinator
Rachel is the Office Coordinator for Academic Advising and Learning and Accessibility Services. She connects students with advisors and accessibility specialists, schedules appointments, and assists with LAS testing. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Ministries from Moody Bible Institute. Prior to working with the Teaching and Learning Collaborative at Wheaton College, Rachel and her family served as missionaries in Southeast Asia. During that time, she volunteered for the International Christian school board in the area. Rachel has also taught elementary, primary, and middle school students for seven years. Rachel enjoys traveling and camping with her family. She also loves crafting and creating home décor.
