In 2013 Matt wrote, "I am currently attending the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I just finished my first year of medical school. I am in an osteopathic school, which I love. A DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) has the same training as a MD (Doctor of Medicine), except we learn a form of medicine called Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, basically using our hands to diagnose and treat patients. I am the President of the Christian Medical and Dental Association chapter on campus, ASL chair of Family Medicine, VCOM Ambassador, and a student interviewer. Wheaton prepared me well in all three aspects of medicine: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Finding my calling at Wheaton has helped me endure my first year of medical school."
Matt graduated from Wheaton in May 2012 with an Applied Health Science major.
