“…my time in Uganda taught me more than I initially thought it would. From the example of one Christian’s response to his calling, his vision, and mission to the opportunity of living an experience of diversity among Ugandans while learning from those whom I initially perceived as different who were yet so similar to me all encouraged me to continue boldly in my faith and the pursuit of my vocation in healthcare.”
“...the experiences helped me grow in the awareness of global healthcare issues/ resources and my motivation for my pursuit of a profession in healthcare.”

“As the semester progressed, I had the opportunity to assist in treatment under the supervision of my supervisor. I also had the opportunity to participate in outreach days. These days consisted of traveling with a team of social workers to visit patients’ homes in the community. The goal of these visits was to assess the care of our patients, supply resources such as wheelchairs if needed, and educate and encourage the families. These visits exposed me to the importance of community relationships and support systems.”
