Exploring Healthcare Careers and Issues in Medicine & Healthcare Online

This is an unexpected time for us all. Healthcare organizations and care centers have to prioritize their time and resources. In-person volunteering, observation and clinical activities for undergraduate students or non-medically trained personnel is often not possible.

The following links will share some online resources to encourage students to explore various healthcare careers and issues.


Exploring Healthcare Careers

A physical therapist has the opportunity to improve the quality of a patient's life through specialized treatment. The goal of a physical therapist is to promote the patient's ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.

  • Sensory Room - Helping students with autism focus and learn by using a sensory integration room. (3 minutes)
  • A Day in the Life - A Physical Therapy student discusses physical therapy school and brings you along to a typical day in the life of a physical therapy student. (15 minutes)

An Occupational Therapist works with patients to help improve their lives by adapting daily activities to meet the needs of the individual.

A Speech Language Pathologist(SLP) works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
