Brian Hunt, Ph.D.Associate Professor of Biological and Health Science
On Faculty since 2008
|
I received my B.A. in Biology at the University of Northern Colorado. After several years of teaching high school science, I returned to school and earned my M.S. and Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I was then awarded a postdoctoral fellowship through the Division on Ageing at Harvard Medical School. So we gave up summers in the Rocky Mountains for summers on Cape Cod. I then spent 3 years as an Instructor in Medicine at HMS running tutorials on cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine. During this time we adopted our oldest son, Tyrone. I was then appointed an Assistant Professor in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. We then adopted our second son, Moses. In 2008 I was appointed an Associate Professor in Applied Health Science at Wheaton College. So we gave up the Atlantic Ocean for the cornfields of the Midwest. When I'm not teaching about human physiology and how exercise can be used as medicine, or performing research on cardiovascular function, I enjoy playing my guitars and worshiping with my family. And, if the need arises and time permits, I also enjoy some woodworking.
