Biography
Annika Stucky is a purposeful and passionate pedagogue, conductor, and leader. She is Assistant Professor of Music, Choral Conductor at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music where she leads the Women’s Chorale and Men’s Glee Club. Other responsibilities include teaching conducting and music education courses. Dr. Stucky completed her Ph.D. in Choral Conducting–Music Education at Florida State University, where she served as conductor of the university treble ensemble Levana and assisted in Choral Union, the Tallahassee Community Chorus, in undergraduate conducting courses, and in graduate and undergraduate music education courses.
She holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Texas Christian University and earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Spanish Education from Kansas State University. While teaching high school choir at Junction City High School (KS), Dr. Stucky’s ensembles received multiple invitations to perform at the Kansas Music Educators Association state conference and for regional and national audiences. She was honored as the Outstanding Senior in Music at Kansas State University and received the Alexander Award for excellence in education.
An active clinician and conference presenter, Dr. Stucky has conducted honor choirs and shared her research at national, regional, and state conferences. She has twice been named a graduate conducting finalist for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) regional conferences. Her professional affiliations include national, regional, and state levels of ACDA and National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
