Wheaton Grad on SPS Alumni Engagement Team
Jennifer Ruda (‘18), high school physics teacher and winner of the Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award in Illinois 2020 has joined the Society of Physics Students (SPS) Alumni Engagement Program. SPS alumni are available as speakers or panelists (in-person or virtual), to conduct tours and job-shadowing, to offer mentorship and other professional development help.
While at Wheaton, Ruda served as both the vice-president and president of Wheaton’s SPS chapter. Ruda currently teaches College Preparatory Physics and AP Physics 1 to mostly sophomores and juniors at Adlai E. Stevenson High School. She is passionate about inspiring future physis teachers. Aware of her role as a woman in physics, Ruda also encourages other women to enter the field.
