As a result of completing the English program at Wheaton College, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:

1. Analyze literature using methods of close reading and other discipline-specific critical approaches
2. Compose clear and persuasive arguments about literature; critically evaluate their own and others’ arguments about literature.
3. Draw upon literature to engage life’s enduring questions.
