Environmental Science Program

Wheaton College Earth and Environmental Science Students at Grand Teton National Park

Curriculum, Courses, and Requirements

A core curriculum of forty-two hours provides a unified presentation of environmental studies as a coherent framework of concepts, theories, facts, skills, and values essential to all students pursuing a vocational calling in this field.

The environmental science curriculum consisting of core and elective courses prepares all students to address environmental problems integrating knowledge from across the natural and social sciences. In addition, students acquire specific environmental skills such as environmental research design, statistics, computer mapping and information systems, and pollution assessment. All of this is done within the context of a Christian environmental ethic in which students develop their personal and professional identity as stewards of creation.

Beyond the core, an additional ten hours are selected from the list of electives in consultation with the program director.

Visit the Course Catalog for full course listings and requirements.
