CFM 496 INTERNSHIP
Process at a glance:
Prerequisites: junior (preferably the summer after junior year) or senior standing and a minimum of 16 hours completed in CFM to take the CFM 496 Internship.
1) Before taking your internship, attend the CFM Practicum & Internship Orientation held once each semester and connect with Dr. Sherri Shackel, the coordinator to learn how to properly engage the syllabus.
2) Read CFM 496 Internship Syllabus.
3) Find an internship location. Review the Center for Vocation and Career Internship Database for ideas. Meet with Sarah Laribee at the Center for Vocation and Career at sarah.laribee@wheaton.edu for more information. If your internship is outside the U.S., follow the guidelines for internships outside the U.S.
4) Complete the "Internship Application" found here; send to Hayley Myers at hayley.myers@wheaton.edu to obtain faculty signatures.
5) Complete the necessary hours and assignments during your internship, as specified in the syllabus above.
6) Once your internship is finished, send the following document to your Site Supervisor to complete: CFM 496 Internship Supervisor Evaluation.
CFM 251 MINISTRY PRACTICUM
Process at a glance:
You must be a sophomore or above to take the CFM 251 Ministry Practicum.
1) Before taking your practicum, attend the CFM Practicum & Internship Orientation held once each semester and connect with Dr. Sherri Shackel, the coordinator to learn how to properly engage the syllabus.
2) Read CFM 251 Ministry Practicum Syllabus.
3) Find a practicum location. Review the Center for Vocation and Career Internship Database for ideas. Meet with Sarah Laribee at the Center for Vocation and Career at sarah.laribee@wheaton.edu for more information.
4) Complete the CFM 251 Ministry Practicum Application.
5) Complete the necessary hours and assignments during your practicum, as specified in the course syllabus above.
6) Once your practicum is finished, send the following document to your Site Supervisor to complete: CFM 251 Practicum Site Supervisor Evaluation.
CFM 216 DISCIPLESHIP PRACTICUM
Process at a glance:
1) Meet with Dan Haase, CFM Department Chair, to learn how to properly engage the CFM 216 syllabus before submitting your application
2) Read CFM 216 Discipleship Practicum Syllabus.
3) Complete the CFM 216 Discipleship Practicum Application.
4) Complete the necessary hours and assignments during your practicum, as specified in the course syllabus.
5) Once your practicum is finished, the Site Supervisor completes the CFM 216 Site Supervisor Evaluation.
