Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Scholarship provides grants for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant at a two or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad and internships worldwide. It seeks to diversify the students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go. Offers scholarships of up to $5,000. Award amounts will vary depending on the length of study and student need. More

Boren Awards for International Study
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Applicants should identify how their study abroad program, as well as their future academic and career goals, will contribute to U.S. national security, broadly defined.  More 

Dell: Verb U
As the next chapter of the Dell Social Innovation Challenge, Verb U supports university students and recent graduates in their diverse entrepreneurship endeavors across the world. University student social entrepreneurs can enter multiple global verb competitions for opportunities to win seed funding, gain invaluable global exposure and collaborate with fellow social entrepreneurs. More

Fulbright
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences.  The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding. More

Gates Cambridge Scholarship 
Highly competitive full-cost scholarships awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. The program aims to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others. More

German Academic Exchange Service Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarship for funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany. The goal of this program is to support study abroad in Germany and at German universities. Scholarships available as part of an organized study abroad program or as part of an individual, student-designed study abroad semester or year. More

German Academic Exchange Service Study Scholarship  
Graduating seniors or those who have received an undergraduate degree of all disciplines may apply for the scholarship for a year of independent study or a full master’s degree program at a German university. More

Harry S. Truman Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship is awarded to students who plan to pursue careers in public service. Each applicant must be nominated by the Faculty Representative of record at his or her institution. Candidate profiles include an extensive record of community and public service, outstanding leadership potential and communication skills, a commitment to a career in public service, and the likelihood of becoming a change agent in his or her chosen field. Humanity in Action
The objective of the Humanity in Action Fellowship is to facilitate a collective exploration of the social and political roots of discrimination, as well as to provide a forum where potential solutions to some of today's most challenging issues can be considered and discussed. Fellows participate in an annual month-long human rights fellowship program held each summer in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, or Warsaw. Humanity In Action fully covers the cost of participation in the program, including housing and most meals.  Applicants should be interested in human rights and social justice. More

Institute for Humane Studies: IHS PhD Scholarship
The IHS PhD Scholarship awards $1,500 to entering and currently enrolled graduate students in doctoral programs. 50 graduate scholarships are available to applicants intending a career in academia and whose work advances the principles of individual liberty and economic freedom. Preference is given to applicants doing work in the humanities and social sciences, particularly economics, history, philosophy and political science. Applicants for the PhD Scholarship must demonstrate research interest in the area of individual and economic freedom and its impact on societies and culture, as well as a strong overall academic record. Intercollegiate Studies Institute
The Weaver Fellowship Program seeks to uphold the idea of excellence and the role of education in producing unique individuals capable of making reasoned choices. The Fellowship is granted to graduate students or applicants to graduate schools who have an intention to teach at the college level. Each Weaver Fellow receives a grant of $5,000 and payment of tuition at the school of his or her choice. More

Lambda Alpha
The winner of an annually awarded national scholarship provides $5,000 to a deserving graduating senior major in anthropology. A Graduate Research Grant is designed to encourage overseas thesis research. The award is variable, ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. Only applicants from chartered departments qualify to compete for these awards. More

Marshall Scholarship
Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at a graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. As future leaders with a lasting understanding of British Society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Mustard Seed Foundation: Harvey Fellows Program
The Harvey Fellows Program provides scholarships to Christian students who are pursuing graduate studies at premier universities in fields considered to be underrepresented by Christians and who possess a unique vision to impact society through their vocations. Each individual selected receives an initial stipend of $12,000. Stipends may be renewed for up to two additional years. More

National Institutes of Health - Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Program offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged background who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. The program offers up to $20,000 per academic year in tuition, educational expenses, and reasonable living expenses to scholarship recipients. Scholarships are awarded for one year, and can be renewed up to four years.  More

Rangel Graduate Fellowship
The Rangel Fellowship supports outstanding young people seeking careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. It helps fund graduate school, arranges internships and mentoring, and leads to employment as a Foreign Service Officer. Award includes approximately $90,000 over 2 years, including tuition, stipend, and internship support. More

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Global grant scholarships support graduate-level coursework or research or its equivalent for a term of one to four academic years. Field of study must be related to one or more of Rotary’s areas of focus: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy and economic and community development. Applicants must apply for the fellowship through a Rotary club. Award includes a minimum $30,000 scholarship.  More

Rhodes Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarships are the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship awards in the world. Rhodes Scholars are chosen not only for their outstanding scholarly achievements, but for their character, commitment to others and to the common good, and for their potential for leadership in whatever domains their careers may lead. The award provides all expenses for two or three years of study at the University of Oxford in England, and may allow funding in some instances for four years. More

Soros Foundation: Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans
The Fellowship invests in the education of New Americans who show great promise of making special contribution to the America of the future. The applicant must be a green card holder or naturalized citizen if born abroad, a child of naturalized citizens if born in this country, and not beyond their second year in the graduate degree program for which they request support. Fellows receive tuition and stipend support of up to $90,000 over two years.  More

Udall Scholarship
The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to American Indian nations or to the environment. The Udall Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for academic fees, a 5-day Scholar Orientation in Tucson, and access to the Scholar alumni network for life.  More

USAID/Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship
The Payne Fellowship provides funding for graduate studies and internships, as well as mentoring and professional development activities, for individuals interested in becoming USAID Foreign Services Officers. Candidates can be graduating seniors or college graduates with strong academic records and a desire to promote positive change in the world. Award includes approximately $90,000 over two years for tuition and internships, and USAID employment. More

US-Ireland Alliance Mitchell Scholarship Program: George J. Mitchell Scholarship
One year of post-graduate study in any discipline offered by an institution of higher learning in Ireland or Northern Ireland, with extensive programming to connect young leaders from the United States to the island of Ireland, while recognizing intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to public service. Award includes tuition, housing, cash stipend for living expenses, and a travel stipend.  More

U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship Program
Scholarship to attend State Department-administered overseas intensive summer language institutes in thirteen critical-need foreign languages. Award includes domestic/overseas airfare, visa fees, orientation in Washington, D.C., room and board, full academic and cultural program, and a small living stipend. More

Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation: The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
The Pickering Fellowships provide support for either the senior year of undergraduate and first year of graduate school, or two years of graduate school leading toward a career in the U.S. Foreign Service upon receipt of a master’s degree. One of the missions of the program is to increase participation of under-represented demographic groups in the U.S. Foreign Service. The award includes up to $40,000 per year for two years, two paid internships, network of support, preparation to become a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State. More
