United Arab Emirates | Bahrain | Israel
In 2023 the Wheaton Center for Faith, Politics and Economics (FPE) added an extra trip to account for a lost year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This international study program invited students to study the economic and political impact of the 2020 Abraham Accords which normalized diplomatic relations between the UAE, Bahrain, and Israel.
After one month of course intensive work on campus, FPE Director David Iglesias, former United States Attorney for New Mexico and retired Navy JAG led the travel portion along with Wheaton College faculty members, Dr. Timothy Taylor and Dr. Min-Dong Paul Lee. The group met with many high-level current and former government leaders, corporate business leaders and church leaders.
