Diane Schanzenbach

Schanzenbach served as an associate professor in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University and faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, during her active time as a Fellow. Her work investigates the impact of school accountability policies, such as the Federal No Child Left Behind Act, and school reform policies, like small schools and charter schools, on student performance and other outcomes. Since 2005, she has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Board of Chicago. She is currently serving as the director of The Hamilton Project and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.
At FPE, Schanzenbach provided faculty and student mentoring and in-class lectures. She also presented a lecture entitled, “Priorities in Reforming Public Education: An Economic Perspective.”
